So, this Korean Thanksgiving 2007, a.k.a. Chuseok, we sometimes give presents to one another like we do in the states during Christmas. This year, my first gift was a gift that looked rom the wrapping possibly a dress shirt or maybe a set of ties. Well, I rip off the gift wrapping paper to find a box with Ginseng pictures all over it.
Korea is regular known as the largest or the 2nd largest producer of Ginseng in the world. You can find Ginseng in almost every store in the country. The product has an interesting strong odor and is known to act as a stimulant, an aphrodisiac and has been known to treat type II diabetes. It’s also an ingredient in some popular energy drinks.
However, for the first time in my life, after opening the package with Ginseng on the outside, I find socks. Yes, tube socks… I thought maybe it was just a Ginseng box with sox in it, but after closer examination and the odor eminating quite strongly from the product, I realized these were Ginseng socks. I don’t know why these foot warmers are are Ginseng laced, but I’ll definitely post something here if they seem to cure foot odor or help with other feet problems. 🙂
