Beyonce Knowles and Paris Hilton “in the hoooouuuussssssss!”

The two coincidentally are in Korea at the same time.  Knowles was here for her World tour & Hilton was here due to a sponsorship agreement she signed with Fila Korea.  In the past, I don’t think Korea really had as much influence (or money), but these days, it even attracts the top celebrities in the world from entertainment to business to television.  Despite my past worries that the country wouldn’t ever “step up” to the likes of Japan and the other countries who have provided 1st class treatment of famous people, Korea has done that — in such a short time as well.  Just eight years ago we were plagued with the IMF crisis.

The other possible reasons is that money simply speaks.  China is growing and Korea may be the gateway for the larger piece of the pie at this point.  So, it may just make sense in that respect.  Korea seems to also have a stronger relationship with the big continent to the west and north of the country vs. Japan.  Regardless, it’s interesting to see.  In the past, you wouldn’t see two large celebrities on the peninsula at the same time.
