Posted just the other day about the new Immigration rules on the immigration website for Korea

 

In order to prevent illegalities of E2 teaching visa holders such as unlicensed teaching, drug use, etc, the Ministry of Justice made it mandatory for all the E2 teaching visa holders to submit criminal background check and health certificate starting from December 15, 2007. Continue reading

Most embassies are NOT willing to help with the new Visa regulations for the E-2 in Korea

So, I’m publishing everything possible about this topic here, but just a quick before posting the latest news story about the new E-2 issues is some good news which I already posted 2 posts ago: there was a release today from Immigration that the extension of current Visas will be allowed through March 15, 2008 for current E-2 visa holders withOUT having a criminal background check and medical affidavit which will occur starting at that point next year. Great News for Current English Instructors in Korea from Immigration regarding E-2 Visas

Just talked to the Immigration office today and they have extended out the changes for current English Teachers for renewing their visas WITHOUT a criminal background check. If you have a visa that expires before April or May of 2008, you can apply up through March 15th, 2008 for a visa renewal for one year withOUT the hassle of doing the criminal background check.
