Well, I’m not 100% sure what’s going on, but I just wrote the following message to SKYPE’s customer service. The one thing the site has going for them is that their Customer Service link is NOT buried like Amazon.com’s, but still read the following first:
OH MY GOD
I think I’m going to report you guys. You can see from my last 3 calls, I used a total of less than 3 minutes. You guys advertise that the service is ONLY .017 Euros to the United States, but you charged me already .19 Euros for less than 3 minutes of calls. Does the math add up on your end?
I guess the question that needs to be answered is if the rates advertised on the site have a small footnote that they need to make more clear — IT DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU’RE CALLING FROM? I wonder if this is the reason why the aforementioned may be unjustified. However, it doesn’t say that on the site as far as I’ve seen, but I haven’t been searching for the messaging either. Regardless, I should of been charged a total of .051 Euros instead of .19 Euros which is 370% higher than what they advertise.
Granted: SKYPE is AMAZING when other people have SKYPE. It’s Free…how can we beat that, eh? However, I would watch out for the funny accounting if I am right.
