While I haven’t bought it yet, I’m definitely a click away from so…
Just saw the HP Mini 1001 yesterday when our “computer guy” brought one in. The notebook is literally almost as light as a thick ringed notebook and easily tuck’able under your arm. You can throw it in your backpack with ease and probably do a bit of work on the subway to work or pop it out almost anywhere.
I tested the keyboard as well and was able to type almost my regular 110+ words a minute with no problems. I’m not exactly 100%, but definitely close enough. Some say the 10.2″ display is a bit too small, but it was comfortable for the 10 or so minutes I stared into it. The resolution is 1,024 x 600 in case you need to know.
It uses a Intel® Atom Processor N270 for it’s CPU with a clock speed of 1.60 GHz. It uses Genuine Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition SP3 for it’s OS. It comes with 1 Gig of RAM (system memory) and can expand to 2 gigs. The RAM speed is DDR2 RAM (800 MHz). It can hold about 60 gigs in it’s hard drive.
The graphics adaptor is an Intel® GMA 950.
