Moving forward, I’ll be focusing my efforts with my new small business which focuses on Search Engine Optimization in the Seattle area.

I think I’ve heard of the “South by Southwest” (aka SXSW) event before, but was just reminded of it after noticing it on a friend’s facebook page. It’s going on right now until the 18th…with Music, Film and Interactive emphasises…
I was about to complement my mom recently in how perseverant she was with our family over the years. It’s one of the reasons why our family is successful. Without her perseverance, I definitely wouldn’t have many of the opportunities I have now along with my Dad’s hard work — have never seen someone work harder in my life. These two are a testament at what two people who were never a match from the beginning and even up until now can do in an English speaking country without strong English skills.
What is the antonym of salutation?
This is totally random, but today I was trying to tell someone how I failed to end the email properly. Immediately, what popped into my head was “salutation” which of course means: “a word or phrase serving as the prefatory greeting in a letter or speech.” As you can see, it is how we start the letter vs. ending the letter.
So, what do we call the greeting at the end before your signature? Continue reading
As wordpress.com’s “Blogs of the Day” growing blogs list page says, they throw up the rankings based on:
“The most popular WordPress.com blogs are ranked here according to a special formula.” Special formula?
I’ve been there a few times, but most recently on January 26, 2009. The Real South Korea ranked I think it was #38 on the “Growing Blogs” list. Two days before I was thrown on the list, I had about 830 views. The day after, it shot up to almost double to 1621 views which may have triggered this listing. The day after though, it only jumped up a little more to 1731, but that was the day I was posted #38. Continue reading

Google had some problems on their end and for a good 40 minutes on the 31st of January (2009), every search result said “This site may harm your computer”. So, you may have been confused when clicking on the results. They apologized on their blog to everyone — not on the site of course though. So, 1/1,00,000,000 of the people who care probably read about it. I just happened to find it when looking at Alexa (which I haven’t done in a LOOOOOOONNNGGG time).
They “thanked their team” for the quick work in finding this, but I wonder if there wasn’t a bit of yelling and stress in the operations center when this happened. I remember at Doubleclick when we had problems like this and our CEO was definitely NOT happy when it did. I wonder how “calm” it was inside Google’s HQ at that time.
Perhaps they need to punish employees by making them pay for their food at HQ? Maybe take away some of their stock options? Oh, never mind…the loss in stock price maybe is enough. Then again, maybe the loss in stock price has not motivated employees recently enough to look the other way more these days??? Who knows…

The language, the offbeat content and quotes like this:
“…we’re going to be a family if I have to kill all of you!” by the lead character “Nancy Botwin” or “Shane goes on a paint rampage. Get’s suspended. Two of you ditch school to fuck in my guestroom,” after accidentally walking in on her son & dysfunctional gf are why I’m watching seasons 1 through 4 when I can. The first episode of Weeds previews enough good stuff including the walking in on her teenage son, blunt racist sarcasm, adultery, homosexuality and of course the drug dealing perfect suburbia mom who knows how to wield the “f” word better than most gangsters.
My life these days in a sentence: Work, my boys/family, emails, SEO Testing/Experimenting, Facebook, OCW classes when I can, Weeds & a periodic flick or two here and there.
Pretty sad, eh?
I’ve decided to give away my Search Engine/Internet Marketing services for free to the first three requests by websites who would like to climb the Search Engine Results Pages of Google. The only thing I ask of the reqests are that they:
- come from businesses that have relatively established businesses that generate at least several million dollars (USD) annually in revenue from their current products or services
- already have a web presence on the Internet & it’s been online for at least a few months; 6 months or more is recommended
- are willing to provide me enough control of their sites to help them improve the needed changes remotely
- are not in the following industries due to the large amount of money & time required to beat everyone else who’s already in the businesses competing (adult, gambling, make money online, credit cards, SEO, spam like services, financial services). I will help the highly competitive world of real estate though since I understand the business relatively well. Continue reading
One of the most popular posts on this blog is one about a dog with a large number of porcupine quills in it’s face. In honor of the post, I thought I would follow up with this post which shows a gallery full of the pictures of what will happen to a dog if it messes with a porcupine:

Some of my posts come from simply just opening up a browser here in Korea. Most browsers point to Daum.net or Naver.com here in South Korea when you open them in contrast to Msn.com or Yahoo.com back in the states. Anyhoo, today, there was this post about the most expensive motorcycles. I thought I’d share the basic information which is simply how expensive these dang things are. To be frank, I’m sure each and every one of these pocket rockets are fast! To an amateur like me, I’m sure all of them would blow my mind … if I was even lucky enough to keep it straight or in control riding these rockets on 2 wheels. Anyhoo, I was curious about the price…now you’ll know how much they cost.
[Drum roll please…]
Coming in at #4 in the list of the World’s most expensive motorcycles is the 2006 MV Agusta F4CC with a suggested price of …………………. $120,000 USD:
Number 3 in the MOST expensive motorcycles in the world is …………………. MTT ‘Turbine Superbike’ which in 2004 was running for $185,000 USD. Continue reading
