One of Korea’s Most Popular Girl Bands : Girls’ Generation aka “Sonyuhshidae”

Made up of 9 girls (as of January 2009), Girls’ Generation aka “So Nyeo Shi Dae” (also in China recognized as Shaonü Shidai) includes Yoona (윤아, 林允儿), Tiffany (티파니, 黄美英, 蒂芙尼), Yuri (유리, 权侑莉), Hyoyeon (효연, 金孝渊), Sooyoung (수영, 崔秀英), Seohyun (서현, 徐贤), Taeyeon (태연,金泰妍), Jessica (제시카, 郑秀妍, 杰西卡) and Sunny (써니, 李顺圭, 桑尼).  All the Girls’ Generation members are between 17 and 19 years of age. The Korean pop girl group is managed by SM Entertainment.  SM once managed H.O.T., S.E.S., and Shinhwa, but still manages BoA, Super Junior and x-H.O.T. member Kangta.

International Girls’ Generation fans usually refer to the group as SNSD. Their official fanclub is known as S♡NE (소원) also one of the titles of a song from their first album.  The Korean pop girl band has only officially released one full album despite producing 3 different CD’s with varying lengths of tracks.  Their first CD release only had 4 tracks on it and was titled “Into the New World” (다시 만난 세계).  Their second CD released had a full 11 tracks on it when first released as the named of the band “Girls’ Generation.”  It was rereleased with 14 tracks and titled “Baby Baby.” Releasing a single track, the girls released their First Mini Album titled after the track “Gee.”

Most of the girls are native Koreans, but Jessica and Tiffany with their American names were also raised stateside in California.  So, they would be the two Kyopo in the group.
